What is a host name? I think this is relates to LocalHost which is required for my to input in when installing joomla.

I am currently hosting on http://www.my5gb.com and have no clue what to put into the box.

Any assisstant would be much appreciated. Thank you.

contact your host, they will answer any questions you have on what they mean by "hostname"
IMO a hostname could mean many things, It really depends on the panel ect.
Your best bet for the best and fastest result is to contact them directly.

Is it inquiring about MySQL? Try:
localhost
OR
subdomain.my5gb.com

For joomla install it should be localhost if you are installing on the same server where the db server is running.

If the Database is on a different server, you contact your server admin and ask them for the information.

i'm sure they use localhost. you should also ask if you can use Joomla, not every host allows it.
