You can also right-click the taskbar and select show the desktop. I found the show desktop button the most annoying and useless thing in windows. I never, ever used it.

2 lines with the quicklaunch toolbar at the left with 4x2 icons and another auto-hide toolbar docked at the top of the screen so I don't have to go through the start menu for all the programs I use frequently.
I couldn't go back to a one line taskbar, you get three system tray icons in one vertical line and can actually read the text on the open programs.
