how long until a domain works with godaddy

hi how long does a domain work with godaddy i use everydns and a forward sevice for my domain. is it between 24 and 48 hours.

Should be between 24 and 48. Possibly longer...but not much.

It usually took me less than a day but I thought it also depends on your ISP?

It does.. When i registerd a domain my friend could see it before i could..

Commonly called the "watched pot" syndrome.

Everytime you look to see if your newly changed domain is showing it's changes, you potentially update your ISPs cache with data that is still invalid due to all the different TTL values that can exist in the chain of DNS servers involved.

Someone who has not been to your site recently will likely see the changes before you have, since they did not have any bad data cached in the first place.

It's a facinating side affect of the way the DNS works. Someone who has never been to your site will see the changes within 12 hours - you may not see them for many days...
