9cy.net Paid Hosting did not simply "disappear". He was honest and warned all his users beforehand. In fact, he moved many of them to his new server and is now hosting them for FREE! There are so many other hosts (both paid and free) that will shut down without warning. The fact that 9cy.net shut down is not a cause for concern - in fact, Paul's honesty and concern for his users can perhaps be seen as a sign of a worthwhile host!

In addition, 0Catch is NOT a bad host. If you seriously want to see a bad host, look at tripod.co.uk - a contender for the worst host of all time because of their policies. It's those evil racist free hosts who know of nothing but money that we should be scrutinizing - and NOT the ones who offer poor-quality features. You guys have been too influenced by Cracker, who can't seem to stop whining about every free host he sees. There's more to a webhost than its features.

So why did he stoppped with paid hosting and giving free hosting now (to his old users)?

Actually I haven't given free hosting to them... some still paying.

I stoped taking new clients on because it would have caused problems. At the time I was only online a couple of minutes a day which for a hosting company is just not enough time for supporting users. This is a good reason to stop.

9cy.com was moved over to 0catch because they offered me a deal and at the time 9cy wasn't managable. It was to customly configured to update settings or scripting making it a pain in the neck not to mention the abuse.

I did not know that 9cy.net notified their users as I am not one, but that is good to hear that some hosts actually care about their users :D
