I'd be very careful with link building. Nothing can be more damaging for you than to get bad links. Google will penalize you for that and has a very long memory. Best links one gets is with building content first. Make sure you have quality content that engages and attracts quality audience, instead of focusing on building links for links sake only. Then make sure that the technical parts work properly, like if it is a Wordpress site make sure the permalinks are set so the URL will reflect the topic of the content and make it more searchable.
