sorry i'm new to this. what's a vps?Cari(dot)Net said:have you looked into vps? you can do everything but for way less, like $9.95/Mo. I wish we offered it.
It's called CGIProxy, and was created by John Marhsall.Galaxy-Hosts.com said:Are you sure you need a dedicated server? Those specs are really inline with shared hosting or a reseller acount. What script are you running?
I was looking at that, and it closely matches what I would need, but it offers too much. The prices are VERY reasonable, but I just don't need that much at this time.computerhelpworld said:Hey,
I think the plan "The 64" from http://www.unixshell.com/plans.html would fit your needs the best right now? That's just what I have off the top of my head.
Try to post another link or two if I can remeber any.
Good luck,
Tang
EDITED: This site also has a special offer recently (not sure if its over or not and its not in english but get google to translate it or something): http://vuokrapalvelin.net/page.php?2
I'm not positive what this means, but my host sent it to me:computerhelpworld said:Just exactly what are the figures that this script uses up?
no, that's exactly how it was sent to me.computerhelpworld said:I think I know what that is but I don't want to go guessing and get it wrong. So is there a title to each column or something?
I need a WAY smaller VPS than that.my-e-space said:If you need a small VPS you maybe interested in our VPS 1 package.
5gb disc space
100gb bandwidth
Free Webmin control panel
128mb ram (8gb possible)
100mhz cpu (6ghz possible)
Free setup
$20.00 a month
Please see our VPS page for more info.
my-e-space said:Just googled "small VPS" and found this http://www.unixshell.com/plans.html
giving you the URL would prove useless, because as of this moment, I have no site, because they suspended my account.computerhelpworld said:Okay, well I got one of our more technical guys to take a look at that "log" you sent me and as far as we can tell it doesn't tell you anything.
That log only shows you how many packets sent (the big S) and received (the big R). And I don't think that is enough evidence or support to say that you were using too much resources. What you need to try and get your hands on is the raw access logs.
Oh and what is your site's URL?
EDIT: Another thing, I've used the script before and it shouldn't be so hard on the resources..especially if your only using 10 GB of bandwidth..maybe I'm missing something but the numbers don't seem to add up here.
