I thought it was because 'the other file sharing guys' are in countries that couldn't be touched by the laws or somethin... I would like to know the correct reason though

I belive it's because Napster was an easy target...it was more tangible. With Napster, there were servers that people uploaded and downloaded to. With most other file-sharing schemes, it's just through...harder to track I believe.

on napster they kept the song son their servers.. but with programs like kazaa, its peer to peer, you download off someone else there is no middle man, so to speak. that is why they canot go after kazaa.. otehrwise they'd have to go after ICQ and msn and AIM etc..

Actually incorrect, with napster they kept a list of every users stuff on the server, therfor making searches, and connections faster, and no time was 1 full song ever stored on the napster servers.

Napster created the idea thats now used by kazaa and others.

Probably if they were not sued file swapping services would be less popular. I found out about napster from a news report on TV. Before that i never knew it was possible to download full songs of the internet.
