Need Reseller/Dedicated Server

Me and my associate are making a hosting website, but we need a server. We know that we are going to get bigger.

Our funding currently is 400 dallors this year. 500 dallors next year.

cPanel is prefered.
 
So your budget to spend is 400 a year? You won't get a server for that but you will get a good reseller.
So, which is it you are looking for? Also, provide specs such as required space, transfer etc.
 
That budget is designed for a Large Reseller. Is that your funding in its entirety, or the amount you are budgeting for the Reseller Plan itself?
 
Space/Transfer wise, I want to see what people offer. I am sure that I would ask too much.

We are getting this funding to go toward the reseller itself.

You could basically take a risk - and pay for a small server for about 4-5 months @ $500 you could get one for that and (like all hosts do) hope it sells, but it would give a reasonable period to get yourselves of the ground, get known and have income to pay on an ongoing basis for the sever and possibly improve on your offerings.

I can recommend a few for you if you would like to discuss it with them, you might get a little off the cost (just a maybe) by paying up front for a few months, and I know they are reliable and serious as I've been around the game for longer than I'd care to admit :)

A reseller is a good starting point for hosting but it doesn't beat a dedicated server in terms of control and support.

Also be sure you can manage a server, a lot have fallen on that one.

If you are working a tight budget just start with a small reseller account (under $10/mo. That will give you free time to learn the software fully and invest into business strategies/billing/support/advertising money and of course a custom web design. As customers come in then you can progressively upgrade. If you plan to be in this for the long haul you may want to consider a provider that you can consult with in therms of strategies and also who will provide an upgrade path if you so choose to move to a dedicated server later on.
