Is there any free hosting which supported PHP and mySQL that can be used to install Gallery, 4images or coppermine? I am new to web design and I was looking for an image gallery for my site. My site is built in freewebs.com. Since freewebs does not support mySQL and PHP, I was thinking of installing the gallery in another free site hosting. Would it be possible to do that?

Sure. You may want to post in the hosting request forum. Most hosts have cPanel and most of the above category have Fantastico. Fantastico can install coppermine, Gallery, and 4images if my memory serves me right.

You want to be very careful you keep those scripts up to date.

They have had alot of security holes. (mainly Coppermine)

Good Luck!

My advice would be you should keep your whole site on the one host, there are plently of free hosts that have everything you need for a gallery and your website, so just find a host that has everything you need, instead of two that cover it between them ...

Yes its possible to install gallery into another site. You can still have your site on freewebs ... and install gallery on the new hosting. But I have better suggestion for you. Shift your site completely on the new host. Use HTML redirection tags to redirect to new site on new host. that's easy and will help in having all the users on one host. ( easy for backup etc), Redirection code is just 2 lines in HTML. I'll give you an example...

All you have to do is create your index.html files ... insert the redirection Code ... let your site be abc.freewebs.com and new site is new.yfchost.com

now when anyone visits your site abc.freewebs.com ... he/she will be automatically be redirected to your new account named as new on yfchost.

That will be better incase you want to install a CMS or any php script will support Mysql. I personally believe that you should shift from them to a host with php and Mysql. Later you'll need php and Mysql ...so better shift now. Also I'd like to give you a offer on that:
