I've found www.SelfPromotion.com to be quite cool, if you bother to read the tutorials and do all the stuff.

Decent numbers of traffic can be obtained by submitting manually to
the most important directories: dmoz.org, yahoo.com and zeal.com.
zeal.com is the easiest to enter, yet the result is satisfactory. If
you managed to get your site listed in zeal.com, it will be listed in
LookSmart, MSN Search and AltaVista. I submitted my site and get
listed in 3 days.
dmoz.org is a bit hard to enter, but if you had a good site with
useful content, your site should be listed in a short period of time.
From dmoz.org your site will be listed on Google.com with a good Page
Ranking. I submitted my site and get listed in less than a week.
yahoo.com is the hardest to enter, but the result is worthy. You can
have hundreds of unique visitors from a single raw link on yahoo.com.

those SEs and directories, only the most important SEs and directories
that will give you a decent traffic. Nevertheless, with Robert's

give your site a good PR and end up as top search results at
Google.com, the most important SE in this planet.
