Switching HDD

Currently my computer primary HDD is 10GB and it runs out of space fast. So I get myself a new HDD with 80GB capacity just yesterday.

Currently:-
Primary master - 10GB HDD
Primary Slave - 80GB HDD

What I want to ask is, it is possible for me to use Norton Ghost (or any other equivalent software) to copy everything (my WIndows installation files etc.) in my primary HDD to the second HDD, then change the 80GB HDD to master and 10GB HDD to slave, then reboot? This is because I don't want to reinstall Windows from scratch if possible.

TIA.

umm, if you could ghost everything over and change the jumbers on the 80gig to primary master and remove the 10gig and it should boot up on the 80gig, once booted up turn off again and insert the 10gig as the primary slave and it should work as another drive eg: d:

it worked for me

good luck

Yes, if you used Norton Ghost / Western Digital's Copy...whatever it was. To copy from one drive to another, then yes... as Gregr said, it would boot up as a normal drive (the one you just copied to). HOWEVER, if you have MS-DOS or an equivalent... then you may not be able to detect NTFS format... as that can only be detected by NT/2000/XP factory made CDs.
