I'm stuck, I am now onto my 5th design for my new site and still can't decide on a layout which allows me to fit content in, is good for search engine rankings and looks nice.

My two most recent ones, and what I feel are two of my best so far are

www.e8o.com/test/

and

www.e8o.com/5/

which do you think is better? Any ideas on how to improve on them? Any ideas for me to make a completely new layout with? If you have any sites which use a similar type of layout to which you think I could get insipiration from, throw some links at me. HELP ME BRAINSTORM, my head is mush and I need ideas!

but it seems like there's too much white right around the word Music and the Featured.things section...kind of takes your attention away from the rest of the page. otherwise it looks good
 
They both look good, I think they will do good for different audiences, the /test looks good for mainstream kinda people/music and /5 looks good for a more underground kinda person/music - depends on how you see it I spose.
So go with what you feel is your better design - if it was me I'd do the /5 one :D.

Thanks Pro5ject. Some of those sites are the sort of style I've been trying to get I'll probably end up with yet another brand new, different design by this time tomorrow! Oh well, I want it to look good and work good!

I like the "/test" version better.

Could I suggest that you set a date and don't change your design after that date.

the /test layout is better, but the header is too big.

the /5 would look nice if it weren't only black and white.
 
Yeah, I guess I did! :eek:

I now have a new design anyway, I'm quite happy with this one and will probably launch with it - but it's a secret until launch ;)
 
I like the /5 version because I can't see the /test version! Just one of those Apache directory lists. The /5 version would be better if it had more color. Also, you should have more content, and less of "Some of that content shit?!" :biggrin2: :biggrin2:
