I posted this in another forum.....

Of all the stories about webhosting how many vanish for a month and no news or messages?
I have 2 'grandfathered' accounts at VH. (from days of original owner)
I stuck with the place.I hardly used the place but all seemed most aok up through 2003.
Price kept me there.
I'm not one to argue but I had the most difficult times RENEWING account every year. At these times it would prompt enough frustration to do a little snooping.
ok...support forums....Support people who were actually the same person despite the presentation of multiple persons.... #1 support a teenager...(excuse me)
Phone numbers? Not real.
Addresses? Not real. Any mail never arrives.
News to promote business mostly fiction.(private data centers, etc.)
Now everybody seems to learn ValuableHost has been sold.I never got any news.
Who are new owners? All we see is another user in support forums which gives no reply to that question. If support forums UP I can't post or register, etc. No permission.
If VH comes back wonderful. A month now?
I hate it but is it not time too look around?
I'm not trying to bash anybody or anything. Is this my fault? (a month--- no communication?) Does anybody remember Cyberwings?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Would anybody guess if your sites are down for a month and no news its time to look elsewhere?
I hate loosing. I have half year left on one and 3/4 on another but?
One was 300mb and other 200mb. I hardly used it and it was an 'extra' granted because of past problems.
Sooooooooooooooooo.....
Any hosts out there that have good reliable plans and economical? I had 500mb that ended up about $80 a year.(for both...about $40 each)
I'm looking for 'year plans' and 'grandfathering'. Who wants to pay __________ now and at renewal time?
I guess most everybody supports perl/php. I like to play with a few perl scripts BUT don't use resource blogging message boards, etc.
I guess this is just another post looking for economy. I still don't think reliability always equals cost. Some have hosted for years at 'economy' and good luck? Am I the only one not wishing to pay a fortune for personal sites?
