Why MAD Face on Offers?

Why do people use:

when adding their offer post??? I have seen this numerous times and just don't get why you would have that face on your ad!

So their particular threads looks more out of the ordinary and I guess it gets people clicking on those threads.

To get more clicks, but then, the person clicking already thinks they're going to see a bad example, probably lessening the overall chance of a purchase.

We don't have it here, but I also see the smiley on threads. It isn't something that appeals to me as a potential client. Quite the opposite in fact.
