Windows 2000 DNS

I am working on a new project recently. I have experience in installing all the web services and such, but now I am needing to configure DNS. Has anybody here had to do it before?

It is a Windows 2000 Server, with AD not installed.

What do I do to get this server to be the DNS Server, and Webserver for my domains? ( I have the Web Server part down pat )

TO be honest with you man, i never got DNS to work in win2k, but thats likely to because im still a beginner in alot of this stuff.
