Windows explorer slowness

is0lized

See Below
ok, when i go to my root of hard drive (where it lists the drives) - either via save file, or via windows explorer it slows down alot

(C) Drive
(D) Drive
(E) CD-RW
(F) DVD-Rom

and i have cds in the rom's i always have to wait for awhile for it to load and it locks up my pc except for my mouse..

how can i stop this and why is it happening

It really doesn't have much to do with ram. Your "rom" has to read a certain amount of data on the cd before it can display what it is

of course the cd takes a while to load...

if you have a slow computer maybe some stuff could lock up.

Well RAM certainly isn't your problem. The same thing happens to me when reading my CD-ROM drive.

anyway to stop it from reading it?
Remove the CD; there really isn't another option.

i have 256Ram, and MemTurbo that cleans up my ram..
MemTurbo doesn't clean up your RAM, it screws up your RAM and flushes out stuff that would otherwise make your computer faster.

Download CD patches that don't require the disc it isn't illegal if you own it.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. It isn't morally wrong though, so go for it.

If it's a crappily manufactured CD-ROM drive like a LiteOn drive, then expect it to happen often. I hate those pieces of shit.

What brand is it? CD-RWs tend to be the worst problem for these kinda drives.
