Hello,

I have a website which is located at: 216.16.246.188

Now the thing is, my ip was 64.**... yesterday and for the past 4 months or so.. Now my Ip is 90.**... ? This has changed twice now. Well thats god on one hand but other hand i cannot access my webhosts IP address. All 60 sites..

The ip i cannot access it: 216.16.246.188
sites: easyforumz.com (uses this Ip)
talkforumz.com (uses this ip)
theres 60...

Anyway how can i fix this? I just get the "Page cannot be displayed"..

Ok thanks if anybody could help me!

Wait question.. What ip keeps changing? Yours or the servers?

If it is your computer's ip that keeps changing then that should hinder you viewing your site. UNLESS the hosting company blocked that IP address or range of IPs.

NOW if its your server that keeps changing ips- then you have more issues, since you use your nameservers - those need to be kept up to date. But really you shouldn't host your site where someone is using a dynamic IP.

But I am thinking you are talking about your computer chaging IPs.

good luck.

Thanks,
Adam

Yep proxy works fine. Its just my Ip- it has changed and wont let me load any of the sites. (216.16.246.188). And nope, my host hasnt banned me.

Then your probably been banned (your ip or hostname) this could be one of two things. The server provider (if on an shared/reseller service) has blocked your ip address or hostname as it was creating two much load on the server. Secondly this could be an option that you were banned on the forum board, however if you cannot access the server then you or your ISP has been banned from the server.

Try contacting the dc and asking them to investigate the servers ip tables to confirm that yours is not on an ban list.

"Thank you for your email. We are aware of some issues in updating existing FTP sites. The matter is currently under investigation by our engineers. Unfortunately, we do not have an estimated timescale for resolution in this matter. If you have any further queries then please do not hesitate to get in contact with us again. Kind RegardsAndre"

So in other words my ISP are complete. ...

well if the email you got was from the hosting company, then I would say no.. If they cant get your domain to work on the shared ip, theres a bad chance it wont work via an dedicated ip.

As for a dedicated ip on your computer, this wont work, theres nothing there for it to work..

Basically if your hosting provider cannot get you access to your account on an shared account, and its not being blocked on the firewall, you need to move, because that is pathetic.

Can you do a trace for us to see, open a command prompt window (old DOS box) then type 'tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' replacing the x's with the ip of the server your trying to access, or you can use 'tracert domain.com' again fill in the right domain name.

Thanks, unfortunately it's only a partial trace, hop 14 didn't complete to show where may have failed, it's also a nameserver address (??) unless this is the address of a shared NS IP and the main server IP.

FYI it traces okay from here, no glitches at all. 17 hops 10% packet loss at one node and traces correctly to Dallas.

Hi,

It refuses to do 14. And then it closes stright after. I just managed to get this screen shot. And i mean JUST :p

<gone>

Thanks for helping!

LOL - start the command prompt using the START button the RUN then type CMD and then run the tracert, if you do it on one command line it's like running a script that will quit when complete :)

PS no problems :)

This is an firewall block, on the server!. Hop 13 is to the Dc, 14 is two the machine, 15 would be the account.

I have confirmed this with 2 different ISP's here in canada, to see if there were any problems.

You need to call the owner of the hosting company, and have an level 3 tech get in contact with you.

This is what your going to want to ask, and inform them that if the information they provide is false, and you find this out, your gone as an client.

Do they have any current ips in the iptables that are being blocked?
Do they have my ip (go to http://ipchicken.com/ to get) on that ip table.
Do they have any ip's from your range (use the ipchicken the last set of numbers instead of yours tell them *).

If any off these are yes, have them clear it out of there. Then try, this will correct the problem.

The reason they do this, is because apache, would get a lot of idling connections or active connections, from one source, that would look like an ddos in progress. The techs for the company then ban that ip and sometimes its range, to stop this issue. Big name companies do this a lot more then an small name company.

** Also note that the easyforumz.com is not located at the same place as the ip you cannot reach. easyforumz.com is hosted at Layered Tech not Ntouch were the ip is located. Also talkforumz.com does not seem to even be hosted any were, it cannot be pinged. **
