Yipes is the main uptream provider for fdcservers.

Basically, your not paying for the amount of data transfer your using, but for the bandwidth(connection).

Most of the sites that offer unlimited bandwidth either die out very fast or charge you after you reach a limit like 3 gb/mo, read their terms of service before you sign up if you do and I have heard a lot of stuff on WebHostingTalk about FDC, people dont seem to like them for some reason. But hey I have no personal experience with them, so I don't know, but you should do some research on them before buying a plan, especially a dedicated server.

Many places offer unmetered data transfer, because your paying for the bandwidth. They aren't offering unlimited data transfer either, since 4mbit minimum comes out to about 1235GB of data transfer.

well, IMO, that first package is quite nice :)

but, FDCservers have got a bad name for themselves. They was down for weeks at one time, to my understanding this was due to their ISP disconnecting them because of the amount of Porn and Warez sites they host.

However, i think their new ISP allows this type of thing, so i can't see any problems in that area for the near future.

I have heard alot with them being down, maybe that has changed. I personally have no experience with them, but you might want to take a look at http://www.webhostingtalk.com and do a search of them there, I am sure you will find some reviews. Just make sure that you research your options and check up on everything before you purchase from them.

Does anyone remember muttle? That was frequently down, at least once a week, and i know that it was hosted on an FDCservers dedicated server.

I don't know if that was the cause of all the downtime, but muttle blamed them for most of it.
