You need to ask yourself a few things if this is your attitude. If your webhosting provider isn't placing any advertisements on your website, doesn't require you to click advertisements/signup for email advertisements, or doesn't require you to post in a forum.. how are they making money? If they aren't profitable, they won't be around long.

Er - some hosts do actually give out accounts without the above, please give them credit for 'picking up the tab' on it. As they are profitable and are giving back out of the goodness of their hearts.

Yes, on free accounts most hosts like a little ad, but some don't and the ad's appear because the client appreciates the hosting.

Plus can you define what benifits RIPN complience would make!

Hi Decker,

I realize there are a few webhosts that are the exception to my rule but, more often than not these providers fail after a few months. These providers give us other more reliable webhosts a bad name.

RIPN compliance is as follows:

The Russian Institute of Public Networks and many other European registrars require that the nameservers that are listed as authoritative for their domains be in separate class C IP blocks. We at Lifelesspeople.com have gone to the extra trouble of ensuring we can host any and all TLDs (top level domains) issued by ICANN.org.

Ah - NP Lifeless, the acronim had us puzzled, I'll look into that one though although we have no probs with nameserver authorities, it may happen, stranger things happen in this world :biggrin2:
