Beta 3 was released. The following is a post from Matt:


Beta 3 is available for download (click on "Download and Support" found at the top of this page).

There are a few steps to perform to upgrade your board, full details are found in "beta_2_to_3.txt" in the "change_logs" folder of the zip archive.

I'll outline them here for you.

Step 1:

You must move your post icons from the "PostIcons" directory into the root images
directory.

For example:
If your post icons are in 'style_images/1/PostIcons' move them to 'style_images/1/'. You must do this for all installed image sets.

Step 2:

Upload the script 'upgade1.php' to your root IBF installation (the same directory that index.php is in). This file is found in the 'uploads' directory of the zip file.

Run it via your web browser. When the script has completed, remove it from your server.

Step 3:

Upload the files detailed in the change log.

JS check added for empty messenger titles
Template tags parsing in preview bug fix
Post icon not updating in topic when first post edited
Languages not shown when forwarding topics
Topic images still showing when turned off from UCP
Wrong filename used when attempting to download files sent via upload
Links to moved topics not removed when topic deleted.
Search not returning all results bug fix
Timezones with 30min increments fix
URLs that don't begin with http:// show HTML code in edits
Wrong posts showing up in MCP post queues
Wrong reply count showing when approving moderated posts
Safe mode "catch" for creating/removing images and macros
Safe mode "catch" for creating/removing and editing templates
Viewing Profile: users time not updated with board offsets
Searching for username w/exact match returns matches inc. partial
Uploaded avatars not changing dimensions
Clicking "delete all cookies" creates new guest sessions fixed
Admins that are global moderators showing in both sections in 'View Moderating Team'
Sub categories not working on some mySQL versions fix

Skins can do nothing for the tons of html that's hard-coded into the php scripts themselves.

It's cool that that IBForums is coming along fast though. I'm sure it will make a bunch of people happy.
 
I find the new invisionboard to be a bit of alright:)

Im helping to run a board larger than this on an IBF, and all is smooth. Better performance than XMB and phpBB. (i still like phBB though)

What are you talking about? I'm going to be creating screenshots, and you have to determine whether it is Ikonboard or IBForums. And I can assure you...some of them look the EXACT same.

So? Wasn't Ikonboard 2 and Ikonboard 3 written by the same person too? They don't look alike!
 
Obviously. He made a better "template" to use that looked better to him and he liked it. If you look, there are things in iB3 that isn't in iB2.

You're suggesting that Matt should turn this whole board upside down in order to not (and I quote) "plagiarized" ikonboard.

Is IBF going to be blamed for stealing iB's white background colour too?
 
InvisionBoard has a totally new layout unless you're so (girlish) as to notice the spick and spans. Who would bother about the footer/
