help

ok, i have gotten fed up with free hosting. its impossible to find anything good for what i need, so i've decided to go with paid hosting.. but im not sure what a good host is.. i've looked at a few.. i dont need much bandwith.. probably only about 1GB.... sorta stupid question but.. paid hosts dont have banners do they? heh...
the ones i have looked at so far are

http://below10host.com and http://webpods.com
i need a pretty cheap host.. so they seem good.. but if you know of any better ones lemme know... :)
 
now i have to figure out which package i need to buy. errm... whats the deal... do i have to buy a domain? or what? do some of the packages come with em? i havent looked to much...

Well if you need a domain or not depends on what exactly you wish to have at your webspace. Below10host.com offers atleast one subdomain on all accounts, so if you want username.domain.com you would want a domain name. If you dont want to spend the extra $8 for the domain name, you can get a subdomain off the servers main domain in this case below10host.com.

Eg: username.below10host.com

Their 500mb plan has a free domain, but I dont think you will be needing that much as stated you only need around 1gig of bandwidth "http://www.below10host.com/free.php"

It is a one-time fee... the top-level package (500) doesn't require it but the monthly fee might be too much out of your price range.
 
Try Powweb. its 7.77/month. If you need to do serious CGI or PHP I suggest tera-byte.
 
i think what i need to do is get the Platinum package from below10host.com, and get a domain for $19.95 a year... seems like it would work for me. thanks for your help/input :D

Domain name for $19.95 per year? Hey, you can get it for about $10 per year or less :D

http://www.haisoft.net offers everything you want for $15.00 year. I just started to use them and I find them responsive. Any time I have emailed them they have answered it within a day, sometimes within a few hours.
