Please reopen the longest thread in the world!?
How can you shut it for spam? it's always been for spam.. and the post count doesn't count, so why does it matter?
 
Yea! I'm going on hunger strike until you open it again! (ok not really.. but please open it:D)

It's never been a spam thread... meaningless drivel, sure, but not spam.

As was stated after the last time the thread was closed, forum rules still apply. Self-promotion, referral/affiliate links, etc., etc, are still not allowed there, but some people just can't understand that.

Oh ok.. but please open it and give the people that posted spam a warning or something:)

Indeed. Unfortunately there are some who think they can flaunt the rules to suit themselves. It doesn't work like that. If you want us to listen to you, you all need to follow the rules you agreed to when you signed up.
 
But Jan, that effects lots of people who dont spam in The Longest Thread ever! Please can you just send them a warning? or maybe even take away same of they're points? It's not the Thread's fault people spam in it:(
 
I am blameing them! bah! But please give us one more chance. And make a new rule! §10 If you spam, you will get banned! and the thread you spam in wont get locked? How's that for an idea?
 
We might decide to open it again someday, but at the moment too many people have misunderstood the purpose of that thread and the rules.
 
Maybe not, but it isn't to get free hits to your site, get affiliate points for signing up at another forum, or being rude to other members.
 
why not just start another thread ? and then smash peoples reps when they spam it aswell as ban them, only instead of calling it the longest thread ever, call it
"The only thread without spam EVER" ..... or
"Spam and we'll cut your throat TWICE", or
"Spam and your balls will fall off",
"Spamming brings syphillis" ....
"Affiliate links cause aids in idiots" ....
"Spamming is the new rimming" ....
"Spam can cause your breath to smell like fish, and mustard" .....
"Spamming causes brain mass to decrease by 4x"......
"Please don't spam this meaningless thread".....

or summing .....
 
We allow rants and drivel in that thread, yes. We do not allow spam of your own site or referral links. If the members who broke the rule can now confirm that they understand this very simple rule I have no problem reopening that thread soon.
