Sometimes unlimited is a reality. FOr example, continuously buying servers to allow unlimited space. :)

Debate allowed and interesting
 
Yes but the actual amount is still limited. Suppose you have the US defense budget and buy all the servers in the world.

Now, a customer uploads their 50 billion porn movies, and you run out of space. There are no more servers to buy, therefore its limited.

End of story.
 
Agreed with fireshark, there is always a limit.

Even if you keep buying servers, the limit is still there.

Yes, there is something called unlimited, however this does not apply to webhosting.
 
untill we can make disks with a literal infinite capacity, unlimited disk space is impossible, and untill every network in the world transfers data faster than the speed of light itself, there's no such thing as unlimited bandwidth either, they are physical impossibilities.
 
This is an ever ongoing debate.

I think there is "unlimited". Factually, there is no such thing but people use the term unlimited to describle a feature which is not limited by the provider. Hence, unlimited usage of something etc.
 
Unlimited does not exist. There are always limits of some kinda or some type of maximum.

Unmetered does exist and can be a legitimate business model if done properly.

Just my two cents. ;)

Sure, it is what everybody down the street says, but there are different ways of looking at it.

My point being one can try to understand and see why so many have use the "unlimited" term and why so many are drawn to it.

It's not black and white.
 
Im wondering. We have the resources to make these Yettabytes... So why not just f'ing make a Yettabyte server? You know like a huge --- server if you have a storage building.. you know. There you go get 3 of them and bam you got it going good for a whole lmfao.

thats a joke you know but it would be cool if they did make one..

still no good... because you then can try and use 1,000 TB + and it'll ruin the hosting company but they have to let you keep using their space because they said "no restrictions". If you restrict hosting company = sued
 
Everything is limited in some way or form, if you can find something in this world that is truly unlimited then I will be amazed because its impossible.
