There is such a thing as unlimited

impossible is nothing...

So your saying unlimited hosting etc... is possible?

Everything is limited its a fact of life.

Its like the more mass something has the more gravity it has, saying your going to get a mass as large as the sun and it will have no gravity because nothing is impossible...

go and make space stations and put servers :D the space is unlimited lol but earth isn't

Space "is" limited. To an extent. Even though it is expanding, there has to be something pushing it, to make it expand, therefore there is already something filling that space, so we cannot use it. I agree that because it is "expanding" there will always be more space, but, in theory, it will shrink again. What's outside of the universe? What's outside of our "Globe" of Universe? Another UniUniverse? :p And even then, to store data in that, the same restrictions apply, as outlined above.

An old question but still crops up. Basically no there is no such thing - 3 scenarios below.

1. Offer unlimited means suggest you have the resources to supply it.
2. Utilisation is dependant on the users abilities, unlimited suggests you can remove those limits.
3. Sell unlimited to user - user dies - get around that as a limitation to unlimited.

Just in case anyone missed those :D

impossible is nothing...

that's a pretty stupid thing to say, we aren't talking about conquering a terminal disease, or poverty, world peace and such, we're talking about the praticality of people offering things that are physical impossibilities, no matter how they might choose to word it, you shoudn't promise what you can't deliver and unlimited quantities of ANYTHING that is man, or otherwise made, is indeed a physical impossibility. End of .......

Even Google doesn't have unlimited space. They have TONS of space, but that's cause they probably spend $xxx, xxx per year or month, who knows on space alone.

okie all guy i will tell you something if you consider there is unlimited hostin okie you are right then if others thin there is no one called unlimited hostin also they are right that is fair 4 all (go with smile).
for me if i found 20 gigs of space i think this unlimited i can't use it all even on my own pc i didn't use halfe of my hard disk (60 gigs) .

That make no real sense.

What about the people who can use 1TB bandwidth quite easily along with 80GB of space? I know I use 1TB and 80GB quite easily... and no host claiming unlimited space/bandwidth has been able to host me because they simply do not have the space and bandwidth, even though they claim they have unlimited.

It all boils down to, don't offer something you can't! Google have a huge collection of servers, and they are always growing but they don't claim they have unlimited space for GMail.

Just because you have your own servers... does it mean you don't pay? Even someone like Google has to pay for their servers. You can't just have them on the net for free, no matter what you do you have to pay for something. When you have as many servers as google you will have a hefty monthly bill.

Er, what? Yes it's just a post to get more, geez....

the word your all looking for is REALISTICALLY, THERE IS REALISTICALLY UNLIMITED SPACE. NOONE HAS AND or HAS THAT MUCH PORN MOVIES, UNLESS THEIR MAIN GOAL IS TO PURPOSELY FILL UP THE SERVER, THERES NO WAY REALISTICALLY THATS GONNA HAPPEN, SO REALISTICALLY, UNLIMITED DOES EXIST, SMART COMPANIES WILL KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH "UNLIMITED"

we have unlimited arguments to proove you wrong ;)

There will always be a limit inside your capacity, even though you upgrade it

Realistically thats not fair because its you one person up against the whole army of HD factories. Now it would be fairer if it was all of the porn in the world vs all the hard drives.

And how do you know we don't have that many porn movies?

This issue on 'unlimited' has been discussed over and over again and there's always clever guy who decided it is time for another debate on the term 'unlimited' in terms of webhosting. The cold hard fact is already there, just take it and stop making such threads that waste everyone's time trying to explain the technicalities. I think the FWS moderators should make a sticky regarding unlimited diskspace/bandwidth. It's about time to weed out the ridiculous requests from FWS.

Juz my own 2 cents...

i agree absolutely.
nothing in the world is unlimited..in fact,it is just a word that has no actual meaning. cause unlimited = infinite = unreal no. if you cannot have something beyond unlimited or infinity,it simply means it doesn't exist.

tho there is unmetered, which actually bases off the fact that the client will not use a lot of space or b/w (since statiscally most sites use less than 15MB of space)

I don't care whether you fill up the server or not, as long as the limit is there, it is not unlimited.

Even if you have a 1TB drive and just use say like, 5GB of it, you think theres so much left and define it as 'unlimited', but actually there is still a limit.
