It seems spammers are beating us, we use contact forms to avoid spam bots collecting our email addresses, but recently I have been receiving automated spam messages through my contact form, and lots of them.

Anybody else experiencing this?

I think people have been, which is why people implement those random "security code" images into their forms to weed out the bots.

Yup.
That's exactly the reason.

In fact, this is nothing new whatsoever once you think about it.

I have never seen a security code on a contact box, only registrations.
It's becoming quite popular now.

Even some blog owners are using it for comments.

You should change your sales e-mail to a contact form and do your support via forum and tickets, that would help reduce it, not having e-mails on your site. There is also something you can put in your htacess to block major spam bot apps from your site.
