domain hosting, cgi-bin, ftp, no ads?

i can't tell you how much i hate to do this but is there any one out there willing to host my personal site (for free)? i'm prolly gonna come off as an idiot but i'm looking for a host which will host my domain name for free. i need at least 10 mb, ftp, cgi-bin and no ads. i know there are a lot of cheap hosts out there but i'm just a poor student with no credit card and stuff. :D i don't want to ask my parents to pay for my hosting as they're already gonna buy me a computer and i don't want to mooch off them any more.

pls don't suggest netfirms-- i tried to sign up with them but it says my domain is already in their database... i don't remember signing up with them though... :confused:
 
Not a Good Idea

The problem with free hosts that do not serve ads is that they tend to disappear quickly :). You are better off going to a service that has been around for a while and charges a small fee to ensure that your site doesn't disappear with them.

never mind about netfirms... they put banners on your pages. i don't want banners and pop-ups on my pages (although a button or a text link is okay).

i'm currently hosted for free right now. where, i can't say since it's kinda a secret :) i got hosted for free by my friend's friend, but the host doesn't have CGI, that's why i'm looking someone who can host my domain with a CGI-bin and no ads. it's a long shot, i know, but i have nothing to lose by posting in this thread.... :classic2:

What about you let them pay for hosting and buy the computer yourself? :D
