Speaking of Bush restarting the cold war...(no attempt to remain on topic)...
The new Missile Defense system is increadibly dumb. The debris will fall over Canada if the missisle is fired from that direction. The U.S. stays safe, and blows up missiles over our heads, without us getting anything in return. They said some major cities would be protected by the shield, but only maybe. It depends on the missile stock at the time. Why doesn't that States work at reducing arms, instead of stockpiling for their own defense. Does Bush want the States to be invincible? This shield would not do that. No one is invincible when there are enough nukes to blow up the entire earth. Wouldn't that be a nice way to end mankind? A dumb president gets too much power and along with other unreasonable world leaders with nukes blows up the planet. That would mean if there is no other intelligent life in the universe, there never was any.

The superpower U.S. still doesn't have enough power to run the world. That is the problem. They have too much power, but not enough. When hostile nations have nukes pointed at each other, ready to launch within a minutes notice, there is a problem. Sure nukes aren't the only dangerous weapon. Bio-warfare could be just as deadly, but at least there is a possibility to stop it. Have you seen the movie 12 Monkeys(I think). They buried themselves underground, and continued living. Going underground will help if there is large amounts of radiation poisioning in the atmosphere, but not if the core of the earth explodes. Then every thing is screwed. There goes the atmosphere. Space suits won't help for long. Does Mars have an atmosphere? Well, according to Bush: "Mars is essentially in the same orbit...Mars is somewhat the same distance from the Sun, which is very important. We have seen pictures where there are canals, we believe, and water. If there is water, that means there is oxygen. If oxygen, that means we can breathe."

Whatever... You people misunderstand the purpose of the system... It's not meant as protection in a massive nuclear war, but to provide such a level of protection to deter a rogue nation who obtains the missile technology to get a warhead to the US...

Hmmm, how strange that no ass here seems to mention anything about the National Missle Defense Program. Think before you speak, because most you are saying utterly stupid things. Bush is certainly smarter than all of you, and Gore is an idiot who has no knowledge about running anything, at least we can have an businessman who knows about running an country in charge. Not a scandal-infested brick. I have to be honest: The Democrats are filled will scandals, and the party itself is crumbling. Scandals here, Scandals there.
