darn! rainplanet, WS_FTP doesn't allow connection with proxy... that is we couldn't connect. i think we have to find another ftp program. what a pain!

im using flashfxp but ws_ftp WILL work as it states on their site

well, is it that hard to connect with a proxy?

even with FlashFXP its easy.

i tried 4 tools, all are working.

try to use FlashFXP or SmartFTP

ok, i have read all the posts but i just couldn't find where to enter the details in order to connect with a proxy. i'm not that dumb. i can read but i just couldn't find where to enter the details in WS_FTP (v6.5). it's frustrating for me too.

i can't just go and get FlashXP or SmartFTP. i don't have the money plus i don't have a fast connection to download them if i found them.



all i ask is you show me where to enter the details so that i can connect with a proxy... i looked everywhere... in the menus and in the help in ws_ftp... couldn't even find the word 'proxy' in the help.

any information will be helpful. i will try to look into some ws_ftp guide to find a way the meantime.

btw, i found where i can enter Host Type but it doesn't allow me to enter my own. i have to choose from their drop-down menu, which doesn't have Site Hostname.
still looking into it (but it's driving me crazy)

first, drop down to "SITE HOSTNAME" and then enter em, into sum free fields

I got the menu to enter proxy type: site host name in ws_ftp. Leanne, you need to go to advance mode when you fill in the host details. But the problem is, I still can't get connected to the ftp server. Here is the log:
